Titleist Brand Ambassador, Justin Thomas (Pro V1x), sealed his first Major victory at the 99th PGA Championship in the most dramatic fashion, firing a three-under-par final round of 68 to finish two shots clear at the top of a Titleist-dominated leaderboard.
Trusting a full line of Titleist equipment at Quail Hollow, including Pro V1x and prototype 718 MB irons, Thomas’ late flourish saw him overcome New Pro V1x loyalists Francesco Molinari and Louis Oosthuizen. Rickie Fowler (Pro V1), Kevin Kisner (New Pro V1) and Titleist Brand Ambassador, Graham DeLaet (New Pro V1x, 917D3 driver, 915Fd fairway metal, 718 AP3 prototype 4-iron, 714 CB 5-iron, 714 MB irons, Vokey Design SM6 gap, sand and lob wedges, and Scotty Cameron 009M putter) were also among the six players to finish among the top seven and ties while relying on the performance excellence of the legendary Pro V1 family.
Thomas’ full bag comprised of: Pro V1x, 917D2 driver, 917F2 fairway, 915Fd fairway, 716 CB 4-iron, 718 MB prototype 5-9 irons, Vokey Design SM6 pitching and lob wedges, Vokey Design SM5 gap and sand wedges and Scotty Cameron X5 putter.
The PGA Championship was the third Major in-a-row in which a Titleist golf ball loyalist has come out on top and the second consecutive Major won by a Titleist full product line ambassador, following Jordan Spieth’s victory in The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.
Following that already famous win, Titleist was once again the most played golf ball in a Major, with 94 players, more than four times the nearest competitor, trusting the #1 ball in golf.
Reasserting its status as the most trusted brand among the world’s best players competing in golf’s most prestigious events, Titleist was also the top choice in irons (38/24%), wedges (160/40%) and putters (49/31%) at the year’s final Major.
This dominance has seen Titleist achieve more wins than any other brand in the aforementioned categories on the PGA Tour in 2017, with 21 golf ball wins (three times the nearest competitor with 7) as well as 11 iron and 20 putter victories, which is twice the nearest competitor with 10.
Thomas also follows fellow Titleist Brand Ambassador, Jimmy Walker, by lifting the PGA Championship silverware and achieved his breakthrough Major triumph in the same week that Steve Stricker, yet another full-line Titleist player, made his 26th consecutive cut at a Major.
Four victories worldwide over the weekend take Titleist’s worldwide golf ball win count to 128, compared to 20 for the nearest competitor.
A breakthrough victory at the year’s final Major for Titleist Brand Ambassador, Justin Thomas, along with dominant golf ball, iron, wedge and putter counts, as well as numerous victories around the world, continue to prove that the world’s best players trust Titleist for their success.
